OCU faces deficit in Battle at Primm

No. 1-ranked Stars tackle challenge from second-ranked Coastal Georgia

PRIMM, Nev. – Top-ranked Oklahoma City University trailed Coastal Georgia by three shots after two rounds of the Battle at the Primm at Primm Valley Golf Club.
Peri'Don Castille and Ty Stites led the Stars with top-10 showings. OCU, ranked No. 1 in NAIA men's golf, faces a tournament field with five top 25-ranked squads.
Second-ranked Coastal Georgia posted a 284-270–554, while the Stars recorded a 272-285–557.
Castille, a junior from Dallas, carded a 67-71–138, and Stites, a sophomore from Sallisaw, Okla., turned in a 66-72–138.
Jack Madden, a freshman from Dungannon, Northern Ireland, Ireland, provided OCU with a 68-71–139. Carson Seals, a junior from Ardmore, Okla., contributed a 71-71–142.
Brandon Strathe, a sophomore from Owasso, Okla., had a 74-75–149.
The Stars continue play in the Battle at the Primm starting 10 a.m. CDT Tuesday.
