OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University cruised to an 82-55 victory over Southwestern Assemblies of God (Texas) on Friday afternoon in the Sooner Athletic Conference women's basketball tournament semifinals.

OCU wrapped up its 22nd NAIA Division I Tournament bid in a row and 25th national-tournament berth by winning the SAC regular-season title, the program's 19th SAC regular-season crown.

"This is a great time of year," Oklahoma City coach Bo Overton said. "This is a fun time of year. We're trying to win a championship. That's why we're here. We have a chance to win to win one tomorrow."
Selzer connected on 5 of 7 shots from the floor and 6 of 7 free-throw tries in 12 minutes of play. Selzer boasts of a streak of 18 consecutive outings with double-figure scoring.
The Stars' Shamika Smith, a junior from Midwest City, Okla., posted 14 points and three assists off the bench. Smith notched double-digit scoring for the third time this season. With Selzer and Smith topping OCU in scoring, the Stars amassed 46 points off the bench.
Michaela Kay, a senior from Spokane, Wash., delivered 12 points and four assists while shooting 4-for-7 from 3-point range for the Stars.
OCU limited Southwestern Assemblies of God to 25 percent shooting from the floor in the game and 16.1 percent from the field in the first half. Lexi Rich, the top scorer in the SAC, managed 10 points on 4-for-11 shooting from the floor for Southwestern Assemblies. The Lady Lions scored their season low.
Sydney Meador had 14 points and seven rebounds to power Southwestern Assemblies of God (21-11). Jenna Price hauled in 14 rebounds for the Lady Lions.
NaShyla Hammons' trey gave the Stars a 9-2 early advantage. OCU's lead grew to 32 points in the fourth period.
"When you come into a tournament like this, you want to get off to a good start," Overton said. "I thought we were really urgent about getting to Lexi and getting to their shooters. The players were more aware of where she was."
