Lockhart powers OCU past LSU-Shreveport 88-60

OCU improves to 2-0

WAXAHACHIE, Texas – Oklahoma City University used a 19-point second half advantage to power past LSU-Shreveport 88-60 on Saturday at the Sheaffer Center in the SW Assemblies of God Classic in NAIA women's basketball.
Mallory Lockhart, a sophomore from Keller, Texas, led the Stars with 22 points. OCU, ranked third in NAIA Division I, improved to 2-0 on the season.
Lockhart also posted four rebounds in 34 minutes. LSU-Shreveport is now 1-1 on the season.
Abby Selzer, a sophomore from Thomas, Okla., provided OCU with 19 points, six rebounds and three steals while shooting 7-of-13 from the field. Lockhart shot 8-of-13 from the floor and knocked down 6 of 11 3-pointers.
Brennyn Seagler, a senior from Gruver, Texas, pulled in a game-high seven rebounds to go with 13 points, seven assists and two steals.
The Stars held LSU-Shreveport to four free throws on the afternoon while shooting 35.4 percent from the floor. OCU recorded 16 free throws and shot 48.4 percent shooting from the floor for the game.
OCU went on a 7-0 and an 8-0 run in the third quarter. Selzer led the Stars in second half points with 13. OCU built their lead up to 29 in the fourth quarter off a 3-pointer from Jordyn Eaton to increase its lead to 84-55.
Oklahoma City returns to action 8 p.m. Friday at Abe Lemons Arena against Philander Smith (Ark.) in the Oklahoma City Classic.
