OCU falls 2-1 to No. 9 USAO

Steiner collects career-high 14 saves

CHICKASHA, Okla. – The Oklahoma City University women's soccer team fell 2-1 to Science & Arts of Oklahoma at McLaughlin Field on Thursday.
After falling behind 2-0, Hailey Terrell, a junior from Austin, Texas, put in her fifth goal of the season to cut the USAO lead to 2-1 in the 90th minute. The Stars went to 9-8, 5-4 in the Sooner Athletic Conference.
USAO, ranked ninth in NAIA women's soccer, received goals from Mackenzie Holub and Thais Silva. Holub connected in the 11th minute off an assist from Lindsay Daugherty and Silva increased the lead to 2-0 in the 28th minute on a ball from Holub.
Nadine Steiner, a freshman from Mutlangen, Germany, played the entire game in goal and recorded a career-high 14 saves.
The Drovers outshot the Stars 22-6 and also held a 16-5 advantage in shots on goal.
OCU will compete in the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament quarterfinals on Saturday, Nov. 9 versus an opponent that is to be determined. The match will be on the road.
