OCU ends tied with Wayland Baptist 1-1

Grave scores early goal in eighth minute

PLAINVIEW, Texas – Guilherme Grave scored an early goal in the eighth minute as Oklahoma City University played Wayland Baptist (Texas) to a 1-1 draw Saturday at Hilliard Field.
Grave, a junior from São Paulo, Brazil, scored his fourth goal of the season on an assist from Julio Hernandez to help OCU move to 6-8-2, 1-5-2 in Sooner Athletic Conference men's soccer.
OCU tied the Pioneers in shots, 13-13. WBU recorded seven shots on frame, while the Stars finished with three. Hernandez, a senior from El Reno, Okla., led the Stars in shots with five.
Andre Salvador, a senior from São Bento do Sul, Brazil, recorded six saves in the match.
The Pioneers tied up the match in the 74th minute as Santiago Pereyra scored for Wayland Baptist off an assist from Adir Versano.
OCU's final conference match is on the road against USAO in Chickasha, Okla. at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
