OCU tops Central Christian 3-1

Stars improve to 3-2 in conference play

McPHERSON, Kan. – Oklahoma City University dealt Central Christian (Kan.) a 3-1 loss on the road Wednesday.
Madi Caputo, a sophomore from Broken Arrow, Okla., led the way for the Stars with two goals. OCU, improved to 7-6, 3-2 in Sooner Athletic Conference play, while Central Christian dropped to 4-8, 0-5 SAC.
The goals mark the sixth and seventh on the season for Caputo.
Annie Bragg, a sophomore from Norman, Okla., started the scoring for the Stars with a penalty kick in the 54th minute after a 1-0 halftime deficit. In the 56th minute, Caputo scored the eventual game-winning goal, assisted by Jessica Titsworth and Rachel Brantley. In the 72nd minute, Caputo added the final goal off a ball from Kalen Castor to secure the win. 
Alyssa Emery scored the lone goal for the Tigers in the 16th minute from an assist by Mariah Godinez.
Nadine Steiner recorded four saves and improved to 7-6 as the Stars goalkeeper. Tigers goalkeeper Mackenzie Kispert had four saves in 72 minutes, while Hanna Koehn collected two saves in 18 minutes of play.
The Stars are back in action for senior day 5 p.m. Saturday against Southwestern Assemblies of God (Texas) at Brian Harvey Field.
