Stars suffer 70-55 setback to USAO

OCU's winning streak ends at three games

CHICKASHA, Okla. – USAO tripped up Oklahoma City University 70-55 on Saturday at USAO Fieldhouse.
Anthony Davis, a junior from Lewisville, Texas, recorded team highs with 11 points and 12 rebounds. The Stars, ranked 12th in NAIA men's basketball, fell to 8-3, 2-2 in the Sooner Athletic Conference.
Davis turned in his second consecutive double-double along with team bests with three blocked shots and two steals. Elijah Christman, a senior from Justin, Texas, added 10 points, eight rebounds and two assists for OCU.
Chris Williams, a senior from Denver, chipped in nine points for the Stars.
Christman connected on a jumper to cut the Stars' deficit to 18-16 midway through the first half.
USAO went up 16-8 with an early 9-0 run. Dedrian Parmer had consecutive layups to key the Drovers. Hutch Peterson's free throws gave USAO its largest lead of the game at 47-26 at the 14:52 mark of the second half.

Oklahoma City enters a slate of four SAC contests in the next week. OCU faces Southwestern Christian at 8 p.m. Tuesday in Bethany, Okla.
