OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University pounded St. Thomas (Texas) 4-1 on Saturday at Stars Field.
Aboubakr Diallo, James Beattie, Henrik Verolet and Andrija Sreckovic generated goals for OCU. The Stars moved to 4-1 in men's soccer.
Diallo, a senior from Oyem, Gabon, provided OCU with a 1-0 lead in the 25th minute with help from Petar Djurdjevic, a senior from Belgrade, Serbia. Beattie, a senior from Glasgow, Scotland, knocked in OCU's second goal in the 50th minute after a cross from Verolet.
Verolet, a senior from Schliengen, Germany, put the Stars ahead 3-0 in the 74th minute on a penalty kick.
Sreckovic, a junior from Kragujevac, Serbia, closed out the scoring for the Stars' victory by also scoring in the 74th minute assisted by Nick Stremel. Maxwell Lockhart added the lone goal for the Celts.
Andre Salvador, a junior from Sao Bento do Sul, Brazil, provided another solid outing in the box by collecting eight saves and giving up one goal.
OCU was outshot by UST 22 shots to 20, but the Stars had 12 shots on goal to St. Thomas' 10.
Oklahoma City meets Texas A&M-Texarkana at 5 p.m. Thursday in Texarkana, Texas.
