OCU shuts out Texas A&M-Texarkana 4-0

Stars run winning streak to four

TEXARKANA, Texas – The Oklahoma City University men's soccer team breezed past Texas A&M-Texarkana 4-0 on Thursday night at Eagle Field.
Petar Djurdjevic, a senior from Belgrade, Serbia, notched two goals in the first half of Thursday's match to lead the Stars, now 5-1 on the season.
James Beattie, a senior from Glasgow, Scotland, got things going for OCU in the first half. In the third minute, he was on the attack and sank the shot in the net. In the ninth minute, Djurdjevic put the Stars ahead 2-0 on an unassisted goal.
Aboubakr Diallo, a senior from Oyem, Gabon, collected the final goal of the evening in the 50th minute. Diallo also collected an assist on Djurdjevic's second goal that came in the 34th minute.
Texas A&M-Texarkana accumulated 14 total shots on the night, seven on goal. Oklahoma City fired 17 total shots, seven on goal.
Andre Salvador, a junior from São Bento do Sul, Brazil, earned his third shutout on the year and improved his record in goal to 5-1. His seven saves on Thursday improved his overall tally to 43 total saves and six goals allowed this season.
Oklahoma City opens up conference play Tuesday at 7 p.m. against USAO at Stars Field.
