Stars sail past Southern Nazarene 2-0

Diallo now has four goals on the season

BETHANY, Okla. – Aboubakr Diallo boosted Oklahoma City University past Southern Nazarene 2-0 on Thursday at Wes Harmon Field.
Diallo, a senior from Oyem, Gabon, scored both goals for the Stars. OCU moved to 3-1 in men's soccer this year.
The Stars took a 1-0 lead in the 14th minute on a goal by Diallo aided by James Beattie's assist. Petar Djurdjevic, a senior from Belgrade, Serbia, led Diallo with a great cross to add a second goal in the 31st minute to give Oklahoma City a 2-0 advantage at the half.
Diallo collected six shots with three going against the goal. Beattie collected three goals, with two on goal. Djurdjecic had three shots. Alex Foy, Andrija Sreckovic, Fernando Toledo and Andrew Flores all had one shot on goal. Diallo leads the Stars with four goals on the year.

he Crimson Storm were aggressive, outshooting the Stars 21 shots to 16 shots. OCU collected nine shots on goal to SNU's eight.
Andre Salvador, a junior from São Bento do Sul, Brazil, registered eight saves and notched his first shutout of the season as the Stars goalkeeper. SNU's goalkeeper Colton Hadlock allowed two goals and collected six saves and fell to 0-2.
OCU alum Trevor Harmon is in his debut season as Southern Nazarene's coach.
Oklahoma City will return to action 1 p.m. Saturday at Stars Field against St. Thomas (Texas). The Stars called off their scheduled weekend trip to south Texas, cancelling their men's and women's matches at Houston-Victoria. OCU's matches vs. St. Thomas have moved to Oklahoma City with the women's match at 11 a.m. Saturday at home.
