OCU sails past Tabor 17-4

Stars run winning streak to 12

WICHITA, Kan. – Oklahoma City University rolled to a 17-4 victory over Tabor (Kan.) at Wichita State's Eck Stadium.
Lane Milligan pounded two home runs and drove in five runs for the Stars. OCU, ranked fifth in NAIA baseball, moved to 39-5.
Oklahoma City took a 9-2 advantage with seven runs in the third inning. Milligan nailed a three-run homer to right field to cap the scoring in the third. Jacob Chappell sparked the Stars with an RBI single.
Milligan led off the fifth by crushing a solo blast beyond the right field. OCU plated five runs in the inning. Quinton Walbergh chipped in a two-run double, while Hunter Aguirre and Branden Grieger each had RBI singles.
Elliott Cary provided an RBI single to give the Stars a 17-4 seventh-inning lead.
Milligan, a senior from Binger, Okla., went 3-for-4 and scored three runs, while Corso, a senior from Lancaster, Pa., added a 3-for-4 performance with two runs scored. Lytle, a senior from Yukon, Okla., chipped in a 3-for-6 day with a run scored and three RBIs, and Walbergh, a junior from Edmond, Okla., went 3-for-5 with two runs scored and three RBIs.
Grieger, a senior from Simi Valley, Calif., went 2-for-3 and knocked in two runs for OCU. Chappell, a senior from Guthrie, Okla., was 2-for-4 and scored twice.
Blaze Hastings improved to 8-0 for OCU. Hastings, a senior right-hander from Guthrie, Okla., struck out five in five innings while allowing two runs on four hits and three walks. Aguirre, a senior left-hander from Oklahoma City, struck out the side in the sixth inning. Garrett Pike, a sophomore righty from Southampton, N.Y., pitched in the seventh.
Oklahoma City meets Panhandle State at 2 p.m. Friday in Goodwell, Okla.
