OCU pummels Roosevelt 20-0

Stars score 20 runs for second straight game

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University cruised to a 20-0 victory over Roosevelt (Ill.) Wednesday afternoon at Jim Wade Stadium, notching at least 20 runs in a contest for the second consecutive game and fourth time this season.
Branden Grieger, a senior from Simi Valley, Calif., led the Stars with four hits, including two doubles, two RBIs and two runs. Oklahoma City advanced to 15-2 on the season while Roosevelt fell to 3-8 overall.
Garrett Foster followed his four-hit performance against Kansas Wesleyan on Tuesday with three hits against the Lakers on Wednesday. Foster, a senior from Ardmore, Okla., finished 3-for-5 with five RBIs and four runs. Lane Milligan also had back-to-back days with multiple hits, getting three against Kansas Wesleyan and two against Roosevelt.
OCU got its first run of the game off an RBI single from Milligan in the bottom of the first. The Stars notched a second run in the next inning when Grieger doubled down the left-field line to bring home Foster. Oklahoma City then exploded for 12 runs in the bottom of the third.
Foster got the third-inning rally started for OCU, singling up the middle to score Milligan. Quinton Walbergh followed with a triple to left field that brought in Foster. Walbergh later smacked an RBI double in the inning to extend Oklahoma City's lead to 13-0. Walbergh, a junior from Edmond, Okla., finished with two hits, three RBIs and three runs.
The Stars scratched across five more runs in the bottom of the fourth, as Foster and Hunter Aguirre hit RBI singles while Walbergh and Jacob Chappell were each hit by pitch with the bases loaded. OCU scored its final run of the inning off a Roosevelt fielding error. Foster drove in Elliott Cary in the bottom of the fifth to give Oklahoma City a 20-0 lead.
Kolin Marley, a sophomore from Norman, Okla., picked up his second win of the season after pitching three shutout innings and tossing two strikeouts. Tanner Andrews, Miguel Figueroa, Tyler Milligan and Garrett Pike all pitched one inning on Wednesday.
OCU next travels to Plainview, Texas, for a three-game series against No. 12 Wayland Baptist (Texas) beginning with a doubleheader at 4 p.m. Friday.
