OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University advanced past the Sooner Athletic Conference women's soccer tournament quarterfinals 4-1 over Mid-America Christian on Friday afternoon at Stars Field.

Oklahoma City's winning streak reached eight in a row, while Mid-America Christian halted the Stars' string of shutouts at six. Madi Caputo and Kalen Castor also pounded home goals for OCU.
Kirsten Thomas, a senior from Keller, Texas, collected two saves for the Stars. She saved one shot in the sixth minute and another in the 69th minute. Texas Wesleyan had been the last team to tally a goal on OCU on Oct. 2.
At the 23:06 mark, Ricks scored unassisted to put the Stars ahead. Ricks snatched a clearance, then smacked a shot that flew under the crossbar.
Caputo, a freshman from Broken Arrow, Okla., posted the winning goal in the 53rd minute using Rachel Brantley's assist. Brantley's pass curled from the left wing, then Caputo knocked in the goal off the left post.
Ricks gave OCU a 3-0 advantage in the 57th minute. Ricks nailed a shot inside the left post set up by Caputo. Caputo touched the ball through a defender's legs towards Ricks. Ricks increased her season total to a team-best seven goals, while Caputo paces the Stars with seven assists.
