OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University took down Mid-America Christian 2-0 on Friday at Evangel Field.
Madi Caputo and Rachel Brantley both collected goals to lead the Stars, who moved to 9-2-2, 5-1-1 in the Sooner Athletic Conference women's soccer. OCU improved its winning streak to six.
Caputo, a freshman from Broken Arrow, Okla., got the scoring started in the fourth minute. She curled the shot in from the right wing. Brantley, a junior from Broken Arrow, Okla., got a cross from Sara Ricks and then closed out the scoring in the 79th minute.
The Stars goalkeeper Kirsten Thomas, a senior from Keller, Texas, added her third straight and seventh total shutout of the season collecting a saves to increase her save percentage to 0.865. She now has 64 total saves on the season while allowing only 10 goals and owns a 7-2-2 record in goal.
The Stars controlled the match with MACU. Oklahoma City tallied 26 shots, 13 shots on goal. Mid-America Christian managed five shots.
With the win, OCU held second place in the SAC with one game remaining in the season.
The Stars play host to Southwestern Christian at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Stars Field.
