OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University rolled past Central Christian (Kan.) 2-0 on Tuesday at Stars Field on senior night.
The Stars goalkeeper Kirsten Thomas, a senior from Keller, Texas, registered her sixth shutout of the season. OCU (8-2-2, 4-1-1 Sooner Athletic Conference) moved into a tie for second place in the SAC with John Brown (Ark.), ranked seventh in NAIA women's soccer, with two matches remaining.
Thomas collected five saves to improve her save total to 63. She has allowed 10 goals and moved to 6-2-2.
Sara Ricks, a senior from Keller, Texas, scored the game-winning goal in the 21st minute off of a Madi Caputo and Natalie Eley attack. That goal gave Ricks the team lead with five goals on the season.
Bailey Webb, a sophomore from Oklahoma City, closed out the scoring in the 29th minute off of a rebounded shot. Webb now has three goals on the season. The Stars edged the Lady Tigers (11-6, 4-3 SAC) in total shots 10 shots to nine shots.
The Stars travel to Mid-America Christian for a 1 p.m. contest Friday in Oklahoma City.
