OKLAHOMA CITY – Aboubakr Diallo extended his conference lead with two more goals Tuesday in Oklahoma City University's 3-1 win over Central Christian (Kan.) on senior night at Stars Field.
Diallo, a senior from Oyem, Gabon, leads the Sooner Athletic Conference with 20 total goals, 14 of which have come during conference play. The Stars moved to 10-3, 5-2 in SAC men's soccer.
Diallo has double the goals of the next player in the SAC. Diallo scored his first goal in the second minute on a cross from the right side of the box. He spun to his left to attack the ball from 3 yards out and squeeze the ball past the diving goalie to his left. Petar Djurdjevic and Andrija Sreckovic started the attack that led Diallo's goal. Henrik Verolet a senior from Schliengen, Germany, scored the winning goal on a penalty kick in the sixth minute.
Diallo closed out the scoring for the Stars with his second goal in the 60th minute. Diallo responded to the Tigers' lone goal in the 51st minute. The Stars outshot the Tigers (10-7, 2-6 SAC) 16 shots to 11 shots.
Andre Salvador, a junior from São Bento do Sul, Brazil, grabbed six saves. He allowed one goal while improving to 8-3 on the year with two games remaining.
The Stars head to Mid-America Christian for a 3 p.m. contest Friday in Oklahoma City.
