ABOUT THE STARS
• Oklahoma City trounced Bacone 97-63 on Thursday at Abe Lemons Arena, holding its opponent to 70 or fewer points for the third straight game and forcing 22 Bacone turnovers. The Stars (14-5, 7-4 SAC) handed Vinay Patel his 50th win as OCU's head coach. Patel owns an overall record of 56-41 in four years as a head coach
Ridell Camidge, a 6-foot-4 senior from Wilmington, N.C., posted 21 points, five rebounds and three blocked shots against the Warriors. He ranks among the SAC's top-five scorers and leads the Stars with 18.3 points per game
Terence Bonhomme, a 6-foot senior from St. Martinville, La., added 17 points on 6-of-9 shooting and knocked down three 3s. Bonhomme has had back-to-back games with three triples
• Oklahoma City is averaging 91.5 points per contest, slotting the Stars among the top 10 scoring teams in NAIA Division I. OCU also ranks in the top 20 in offensive rebounds per game, pulling down an average of 12.6
• The Stars sit at No. 21 in the most recent NAIA Division I rankings. Oklahoma City has made 23 NAIA Division I Tournament appearances and won six national championships in 1991, 1992, 1994, 1996, 2007 and 2008
• OCU has been picked to finish second place in the Sooner Athletic Conference according to the preseason coaches poll. OCU owns 12 SAC regular-season titles and nine SAC Tournament crowns
• Oklahoma City won its last meeting with John Brown 103-95 in overtime at Bill George Arena on Dec. 9, 2017. Camidge fueled OCU with a season-high 42 points and Samuel Williams supplied the Stars with 27 points and 12 rebounds

ABOUT THE GOLDEN EAGLES
• John Brown snapped its two-game losing streak by knocking off Central Christian (Kan.) 96-71 on Thursday in Siloam Springs, Ark. The Golden Eagles (11-8, 6-5 SAC) come off a strong shooting performance from beyond the arc, finishing 13-of-26 in Thursday's win – their 10th game of the season with at least 10 triples
• Jake Caudle, a 6-foot-1 junior from Bentonville, Ark., leads John Brown with 18.9 points per game and shoots 45.5 percent from downtown. Caudle has drained 60 total 3s this year, the fifth most in NAIA Division I
• Josh Bowling, a 6-foot-6 junior from Detroit, adds 12.4 points and 4.9 boards a game for the Golden Eagles. He ranks first in NAIA Division I in free-throw percentage, hitting 57 of his 61 attempts (93.4 percent) this year. Bowling went for 33 points and buried five treys in the last meeting with OCU
• Among the NAIA Division I, John Brown ranks sixth as a team in made 3s per game (10.47) and free throw percentage (75.3). The Golden Eagles also rank 11th in total rebound defense (32.0)
• SAC coaches selected John Brown to finish seventh in the league's preseason poll

MEET THE COACHES
Vinay Patel (50-27, third season with OCU)
• Patel collected his second HoopDirt.com coach of the week honor for Dec. 4-10
• Patel has guided two OCU all-Americans, including the Stars' first first-teamer since 2008; the 2017 Sooner Athletic Conference player of the year, the 2017 SAC co-defensive player of the year, a finalist for the Dark Horse Dunker competition, six all-conference performers and three academic all-SAC choices
• Before coming to OCU, he spent one season as Rogers State's assistant coach and aided the Hillcats to a 20-8 season led by the conference player of the year
• Patel spent nine years as assistant before serving as the head coach at West Texas A&M. During that time, West Texas went to the NCAA Division II Tournament five times, won the Lone Star Conference championship and took two Lone Star South Division titles

Jason Beschta (55-57, fourth season with John Brown)
• Has produced five all-SAC performers at John Brown including honorable-mention all-American Max Hopfgartner
• Beschta directed Oklahoma Wesleyan to a 62-36 record in three years. Beschta became Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference coach of the year as the Eagles went 25-10, shared the conference regular-season title and reached the second round of the NAIA Division II Tournament in 2013-14
• Beschta has an overall coaching record of 111-89 in his seventh season as a head coach
