• Oklahoma City University meets Southwestern Christian in what has typically been a nail-biting contest
• Eight of the nine games in the series between the two teams have been decided by seven points or less
• Southwestern Christian enters looking to end a two-game losing streak
 
ABOUT THE STARS
• The Stars (10-4, 3-3 SAC) collected a forfeit from St. Gregory's for the game originally scheduled for Thursday due to the closure of St. Gregory's. In its last time on the court, Oklahoma City fell 106-92 to Texas Wesleyan on Saturday in Fort Worth, Texas. Branden Jenkins totaled 44 points, seven rebounds and eight 3-pointers to power Texas Wesleyan en route to becoming SAC and NAIA Division I player of the week
Terence Bonhomme, a 6-foot senior from St. Martinville, La., provided OCU with 20 points while hitting 8 of his 13 shots from the floor. Bonhomme collects 16.6 points and 3.9 rebounds a contest
Ridell Camidge, a 6-4 senior from Wilmington, N.C., added 15 points and six rebounds. Camidge tops OCU with 18.5 points a contest and 41.2 percent shooting from 3-point range and grabs 6.0 rebounds a game
Lou Dunbar, a 6-3 senior from Seabrook, Texas, hit double digits in scoring for the second time this season with 14 points. Walter Rickett and Samuel Williams each contributed 11 points for five double-digit scorers for OCU

• The Stars went to 14th in the most recent NAIA Division I rankings released Tuesday. OCU opened the season at No. 12 in the preseason top 25. Oklahoma City has made 23 NAIA Division I Tournament appearances and won six national championships in 1991, 1992, 1994, 1996, 2007 and 2008
• The Stars have been picked to finish second place in the Sooner Athletic Conference according to the preseason coaches poll. OCU owns 12 SAC regular-season titles and nine SAC Tournament crowns
• OCU holds an 8-2 advantage in the all-time series. The Stars ousted Southwestern Christian from the SAC Tournament with an 87-80 overtime win Feb. 28 in Bethany, Okla., in the tournament quarterfinals. Syrus McDonald had five points during a game-turning 8-0 run for OCU during the overtime period
 
ABOUT THE EAGLES
• Southwestern Christian fell short to Central Christian (Kan.) 81-72 on Thursday in McPherson, Kan. The Eagles (9-6, 4-3 SAC) absorbed their second consecutive road loss
• Shawn Scott, a 6-1 senior, fueled Southwestern Christian with 27 points and seven steals on an 11-for-14 shooting effort from the field. Scott averages 15.9 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.67 steals a game, ranking fifth in the NAIA in average steals
• Southwestern Christian posts 9.73 steals per game as a team to rank ninth among the NAIA
• League coaches placed Southwestern Christian at ninth in the preseason SAC poll
 
ABOUT THE COACHES
Vinay Patel (46-26, third season with OCU)
• Patel collected his second HoopDirt.com coach of the week honor for Dec. 4-10
• Patel has guided two OCU all-Americans, including the Stars' first first-teamer since 2008; the 2017 Sooner Athletic Conference player of the year, the 2017 SAC co-defensive player of the year, a finalist for the Dark Horse Dunker competition, six all-conference performers and three academic all-SAC choices
• Before coming to OCU, he spent one season as Rogers State's assistant coach and aided the Hillcats to a 20-8 season led by the conference player of the year
• Patel spent nine years as assistant before serving as the head coach at West Texas A&M. During that time, West Texas went to the NCAA Division II Tournament five times, won the Lone Star Conference championship and took two Lone Star South Division titles
 
Jon Mack (first season with Southwestern Christian)
• Arrived at Southwestern Christian after guiding Valley Forge (Pa.) to a 287 victories in 17 years
• Took Valley Forge to 11 consecutive National Christian College Athletic Association Division II Tournament trips with national runner-up finishes in 2009, 2011 and 2012
• Four-time NCCAA Division II coach of the year
• Held position of athletic director for 13 years at Valley Forge
