OCU takes 3-0 loss to Oklahoma Wesleyan

Stars play next at noon Sunday against Houston-Victoria

BARTLESVILLE, Okla. -- The Oklahoma City University women's soccer team was shutout 3-0 Wednesday night against Oklahoma Wesleyan at OKWU Field.
Freshman Madeleine Sjoholm and junior Sara Ricks each produced two shots apiece against Oklahoma Wesleyan, but all to no avail. With the loss OCU dropped to 1-2 while the Eagles improved to 4-1. 
OCU was unable to generate any offense on Wednesday, finishing with five total shots and two on goal. OWU kept the Stars on their toes throughout the contest, firing sixteen total shots and ten on goal.
The first goal was scored within the first five minutes of the match by OWU's Marjolen Nekesa. OCU trailed 1-0 at halftime but allowed two goals in the second half that stretched the deficit to 3-0.
Junior goalkeeper Kirsten Thomas accumulated three saves in the first half and four in the second to tally seven total saves. Thomas fell to a 1-2 record in goal after the loss.
Oklahoma City plays next at noon Sunday against Houston-Victoria at Stars Field.
