OKLAHOMA CITY – Branden Grieger, Cory Linn and Hunter Aguirre all hit home runs to help the second-ranked Oklahoma City University defeat Southwestern Oklahoma State 10-0 Tuesday at Jim Wade Stadium.
Oklahoma City pounded out 12 hits in the win their 10th straight game and to move to 29-4, 6-0 in Sooner Athletic Conference play.
Grieger, a senior from Simi Valley, Calif., led off the game with his fourth homer of the season.
The game remained 1-0 until the bottom of the third when OCU scored five runs to create separation. In the inning, Linn, a senior out of Moore, Okla., lifted a three-run homer to right center.
The Stars added two runs in both the sixth and eighth innings to complete the 10 run rule after eight innings. Aguirre, a junior from Oklahoma City, lifted his fifth homer of the season to lead off the eighth inning.
Aguirre finished the game 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored while Linn went 2-for-3 with four RBI and scored two runs.
Bryce Milligan started the game on the mound and grabbed his second win of the season. Milligan, a freshman from Blanchard, Okla., pitched five scoreless innings, allowing just three hits and striking out two.
J.R. Holloway pitched the final inning and recorded all three outs via strikeout.
Oklahoma City takes on USAO at Bill Smith Ballpark 6 p.m. Thursday in Chickasha, Okla.
