OCU races past McPherson 11-2

Stars score nine runs in final three innings

OKLAHOMA CITY – Jerame Littell went 5-for-5 on the day to help the Oklahoma City University baseball team take home an 11-2 win over McPherson (Kan.) Wednesday at Jim Wade Stadium.
Littell, a senior from Stillwater, Okla., drove in three runs, scored two runs, hit two doubles and raised his average from .295 to .348 in the game. OCU moved to 18-3 on the season and have now won seven straight games.
The Stars got on the board in the second inning with two runs thanks to an RBI double from Skyler Bean and a RBI single from Littell.
The score remained 2-0 through the fifth, but the Oklahoma City offense exploded for two runs in the sixth, four in the seventh and three in the eighth. The Stars produced 11 hits over the final three innings of the game.
Littell, Hunter Aguirre, Joe Lytle and Branden Grieger all produced multiple RBIs for OCU in the win while Garrett Foster, a junior from Ardmore, Okla, went 4-for-5 with three runs scored.
Holden Lyons started the game for OCU, pitching four innings, allowing no runs, two hits and striking out three. J.R. Holloway and Tyler Milligan both pitched two innings for OCU and combined to give up two runs, both unearned, on two hits and strike out five.
The win went to Ken Williams who moved to 1-0 on the season. Williams, a senior from Renton, Wash., worked one inning, giving up one hit, no runs and striking out one.
The Stars will take the field again 10 a.m. Saturday at Jim Wade Stadium against Dallas Christian.
