OCU crushes Calumet 18-6

Stars hit five home runs

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University blistered Calumet (Ind.) 18-6 on Tuesday at Jim Wade Stadium.
The Stars scored 15 runs for the fourth time this year and second consecutive time. Oklahoma City improved to 17-3 with its sixth consecutive victory in baseball.
OCU swatted five home runs. Jared Baker and Shaun Corso pounded back-to-back homers as part of the Stars' four-run second inning. Cory Linn nailed a solo blast beyond the left-field wall in the fourth, and Jerame Littell crushed a solo shot to left in the fifth. Skyler Bean hammered a grand slam in the sixth.
Oklahoma City accumulated 16 hits to reach 15 hits for the seventh time this year. Baker, a senior from Edmond, Okla., went 3-for-4, scored twice, doubled and drove in three runs, and Hunter Aguirre, a junior from Oklahoma City, was 3-for-4 with a triple, stolen base and three runs scored.
Garrett Foster, a junior from Ardmore, Okla., had a 2-for-4 performance with two runs scored, while Bean, a senior from Garland, Texas, went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and five runs driven in.
OCU erased 2-0 and 4-3 deficits. In the second, Seth Jones tied the game 4-4 with an RBI base hit through the middle of the infield. Joe Lytle's deep fly to center field scored Caleb Davis from second base to put the Stars ahead 5-4.
Garrett Pike, a redshirt freshman right-hander from Southampton, N.Y., picked up his first career victory. Pike struck out five in 3.2 innings. Bryce Milligan, a freshman from Blanchard, Okla., kept Calumet scoreless the final two innings.
The Stars meet McPherson (Kan.) at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Jim Wade Stadium.
