CONWAY, Ark. – Top-ranked Oklahoma City University ripped Bethel (Tenn.) 9-1 and Central Baptist (Ark.) 12-0 on Saturday at City of Colleges Park in the Central Baptist February Meltdown.
Kali Pugh sparked OCU with a leadoff homer vs. Bethel, while Madison Ellis nailed a pair of homers and drove in six runs against Central Baptist. The Stars, ranked No. 1 in NAIA softball, improved to 9-0 on the season.
OCU's McRae Cayton added a pair of run-scoring singles vs. Bethel. Amanda Ingram, a senior from Oklahoma City, went 3-for-3, while Ellis, a senior from Yukon, Okla., also went 3-for-3.
Georgia Wall moved to 4-0 with a five-inning complete game. Wall, a sophomore from Marlow, Okla., struck out four.
Ellis finished the day 7-for-7 at the plate. Ellis was 4-for-4 with three runs scored against Central Baptist.
Abby Meador picked up her fourth win of the year. Meador, a junior from Midwest City, Okla., fanned three in three innings. Jaden Shores added two scoreless innings.
The Stars' Sooner Athletic Conference opener will be a 2 p.m. doubleheader vs. Southwestern Christian at Ann Lacy Stadium.
