OCU falls short to Randall in overtime 116-13

Stars take first setback of season

MOORE, Okla. – Randall knocked off Oklahoma City University 116-113 in overtime Wednesday night at the Randall Activities Center.
Terence Bonhomme, a senior from St. Martinville, La., powered the Stars with 26 points, five rebounds, three steals and four 3-pointers. OCU, ranked 12th in NAIA Division I men's basketball, fell to 6-1 on the season.
Kashus Lyons topped Randall (4-7) with 32 points, seven rebounds, three steals and six 3-pointers. Randall owns victories over Mid-America Christian, ranked 22nd in the NAIA, and St. Mary's (Texas) in San Antonio. The Saints have won the past two National Christian College Athletic Association Division II championships.
Ridell Camidge sank a 3-pointer to give Oklahoma City a 108-103 lead with three minutes remaining in overtime. Randall answered with a 9-0 run. Lyons hit free throws with 1:37 showing to put Randall in front 109-108. Brad Ficken capped the Saints' surge with free throws at the 42-second mark.

connected on a trey to cut Randall's edge to 114-113 with 16 seconds to go. Xavier Hunter responded with two makes from the free-throw line for Randall. Lou Dunbar had a 3-point try miss on the final possession.
In regulation, Bonhomme made free throws to give OCU a 101-98 edge with 23 seconds left. Hunter hit a 3 to tie the game with 12 seconds showing.
Ivan Saicic, a senior from Belgrade, Serbia, added 21 points, eight rebounds, seven assists and two steals, while Samuel Williams, a senior from Reno, Nev., chipped in 20 points and five rebounds for the Stars. Elijah Christman, a junior from Justin, Texas, contributed 13 points and eight rebounds while shooting 5-for-5 from the field.
Randall made 32 of 37 free-throw attempts and shot 9-for-10 from the foul line in overtime. Ben Collier turned in a 12-for-12 night from the free-throw line.
OCU begins Sooner Athletic Conference play 5 p.m. Saturday at Mid-America Christian inside the Gaulke Activity Center in Oklahoma City. The Stars were picked to finish second place in the SAC in the preseason.
