MUSKOGEE, Okla. – Oklahoma City University earned its second consecutive shutout victory with a 4-0 win over Bacone on Saturday.
The Stars, who have outscored their last two opponents 7-0, improved to 8-4-1 overall and 4-2-1 in Sooner Athletic Conference women's soccer while Bacone dropped to 2-14 on the season and 0-8 in the SAC.
After a scoreless first half, Sara Ricks got OCU on the board first in the 54th minute and again in the 83rd minute. Ricks, a junior from Keller, Texas, leads the team in goals scored with 14.
Kalen Castor and Gabrielle Szukala both notched their first goals of the season in Saturday's win. Castor, a sophomore from Muskogee, Okla., scored in the 82nd minute and Szukala, a junior from Edmond, Okla., scored in the 88th minute.
Oklahoma City returns to action against John Brown (Ark.) at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Stars Field.
