Aboubakr Diallo’s late goal boosts OCU to victory

MUSKOGEE, Okla. – Aboubakr Diallo's game-winning goal in the 89th minute pushed Oklahoma City University to a 3-2 victory over Bacone on Saturday. 
OCU advanced to 11-3-1 on the year and 4-2-1 in Sooner Athletic Conference men's soccer. Bacone fell to 7-7-1 overall and 2-5-1 in SAC play.
Bacone jumped out to a quick 2-0 within the match's first 10 minutes, but the Stars battled back to tie it at the half.
First, Nick Stremel, a freshman from Plettenberg, Germany, tallied his first goal of the season in the 12th minute off an assist from Logan Stewart. Then in the 38th minute James Beattie, a junior from Glasgow, Scotland, knocked down the equalizer for his fifth goal of the year.
The two teams were deadlocked at two for the rest of the second half until Diallo tallied the game-winning goal with just one minute remaining. Diallo, a junior from Oyem, Gabon, is tied for second in goals scored this season (5).
In goal, Vladimir Kalajdzic collected four saves in the win and moved to 11-3-1. He has 76 saves and 15 goals allowed this season.
Oklahoma City plays next at 7 p.m. Tuesday against John Brown (Ark.) at Stars Field.
