OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University tied St. Gregory's 1-1 after two overtime periods Thursday night at Stars Field.
The draw moved the Stars to 6-4-1 overall and 2-2-1 in Sooner Athletic Conference women's soccer. St. Gregory's moved to 5-5-1 on the year and 1-2-1 in SAC play.
The Cavaliers got on the board first in Thursday's match, tallying a goal in the second minute when a free kick from just inside midfield met Priscilla Armenta inside the box for the score.
OCU answered in the 62nd minute when a cross from Brianna Demuth connected with Natalie Eley for the game-tying goal. Eley, a junior from Burton, England, has notched four goals on the season, second-most on the team behind Sara Ricks' 11.
The Stars dominated in total shots with 20 and shots on goal with 11. St. Gregory's had just five total shots and three on goal. OCU tallied three shots in the two overtime periods while the Cavaliers fired one.
Kirsten Thomas, a junior from Keller, Texas, collected two saves and went to 5-4-1 in goal. She has 30 total saves and 14 goals allowed this year.
Oklahoma City plays next against Mid-America Christian at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Stars Field.
