OCU dominates Wayland Baptist 4-0

Sara Ricks and Natalie Eley each score two goals in Tuesday's win

PLAINVIEW, Texas – Natalie Eley and Sara Ricks supplied two goals each for Oklahoma City University in a dominant 4-0 victory over Wayland Baptist (Texas) on Tuesday night at Hilliard Field.
The Stars used the win to bounce back from two straight losses and improved to 6-4 overall, 2-2 in Sooner Athletic Conference women's soccer. Wayland Baptist fell to 3-8 and 2-3 in SAC play.
Ricks, a junior from Keller, Texas, notched the first goal of the match not even 10 minutes into Tuesday's contest. Keilah Ayum set up Ricks with a pass that led to Ricks' 10th goal of the season.
Eley, a junior from Burton, England, scored the next two goals for OCU in the 19th minute off an assist from Ricks and in the 45th minute off a cross from Madeleine Sjoholm for a header. Sjoholm then tallied her second assist of the evening after her cross from the right side of the field connected with Ricks for another Stars' goal in the 47th minute.
OCU lead the way in total shots (20) and shots on goal (11). Wayland Baptist had only four total shots and one on goal.
Kirsten Thomas and Kristina Patterson shared duties in goal on Tuesday night, together holding WBU scoreless. It was the fourth time this season the Stars have shut out their opponent.
Oklahoma City is back in action at 5 p.m. against St. Gregory's on Thursday at Stars Field.
