Soraru, Vojnovic from OCU snag weekly SAC honors

Stars pair fuels uprising over fifth-ranked Hastings

OKLAHOMA CITY – Manon Soraru and Sanja Vojnovic of Oklahoma City University have repeated as Sooner Athletic Conference volleyball players of the week for Aug. 29-Sept. 5.
Soraru, a junior from Mulhouse, France, took SAC attacker of the week, and Vojnovic, a junior from Bajeljena, Bosnia, garnered SAC setter of the week for the second consecutive week.
In the Bellevue Labor Day Classic, Soraru totaled 3.65 kills and 0.47 blocks per set with a .435 hitting percentage. Soraru led an upset of fifth-ranked Hastings (Neb.) with 22 kills in 30 attempts without an error and four blocks.
Vojnovic provided the Stars with 11.00 assists, 1.35 digs and 0.24 aces a set along with four matches of 45 or more assists. Vojnovic accumulated 49 assists, four digs and three aces in the five-set win over Hastings.
