SALINA, Kan. – Aron Chapman delivered the match's only goal as Oklahoma City University edged Kansas Wesleyan 1-0 on Saturday at the Graves Family Sports Complex.
Chapman, a senior from Sutton Coldfield, England, scored for the second time in as many contests. The Stars went to 5-2 in men's soccer.
Logan Stewart, a junior from Denton, Texas, provided the assist on the goal in the 52nd minute.
Vladimir Kalajdzic preserved OCU's lead by turning away Kansas Wesleyan shots in the 55th and 62nd minutes. Kalajdzic, a junior from Novi Sad, Serbia, accumulated four saves in his first shutout of the season. Kalajdzic posted his seventh career whitewash.
The Stars owned a 13-8 advantage in shots and a 5-4 edge in shots on goal. Petar Djurdjevic and Alexandre Taiar each took a team-high three shots.
OCU's next match will be 6 p.m. Tuesday against Bethany (Kan.) in Lindsborg, Kan.
