Stars stomp Bethany 3-1

Djurdjevic paces OCU by scoring twice

LINDSBORG, Kan. – Oklahoma City University toppled Bethany (Kan.) 3-1 on Tuesday at Anderson Stadium.
Petar Djurdjevic, a sophomore from Belgrade, Serbia, booted in two goals for Oklahoma City. The Stars improved to 6-2 in men's soccer.
Djurdjevic produced the winning goal in the 23rd minute, giving OCU a 2-1 first-half lead. Logan Stewart, a junior from Denton, Texas, recorded the assist.
In the 76th minute, Djurdjevic knocked in his second goal of the match. Henrik Verolet and Juan Ocampo provided assists on the goal that put the Stars up 3-1.
Alexandre Taiar, a sophomore from Sao Paulo, Brazil, put OCU on top 1-0 with a goal in the 17th minute. Chase Soper, a sophomore from Muskogee, Okla., set up Taiar to notch his first assist as a Star.
OCU accumulated 19 shots, nine on goal. Bethany mustered nine shots, five on goal.
Vladimir Kalajdzic, a junior from Novi Sad, Serbia, snared four saves for the Stars.
Oklahoma City opens Sooner Athletic Conference play 6 p.m. Sept. 27 against Bacone at Stars Field.
