OKLAHOMA CITY – Logan Stewart's goal brought Oklahoma City University a 1-0 victory over Wiley (Texas) on Saturday at Stars Field.
Stewart, a junior from Denton, Texas, headed in the goal in the 42nd minute. The Stars moved to 4-1 in men's soccer.
Alex Buckley booted the ball into the penalty box, and Stewart leapt to knock the ball into the net. Stewart scored for the third time this season. Andrew Flores earned an assist by knocking the ball to Buckley.
OCU played the final 37 minutes of the contest shorthanded. Petar Djurdjevic was called for a red card in the 52nd minute.
The Stars made the goal stand despite Wiley producing eight shots on goal to OCU's four. Wiley had a 10-9 advantage in shots.
Daniel Paugh and Vladimir Kalajdzic teamed to shut out Wiley. Paugh, a junior from Edmond, Okla., and Kalajdzic, a junior from Novi Sad, Serbia, posted four saves in a half of action each.
The Stars face Texas A&M-Texarkana at 5 p.m. Thursday in Texarkana, Texas.
