Stars garner SAC volleyball honors

Soraru nabs attacker of week, Vojnovic secures setter of week

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University's Manon Soraru and Sanja Vojnovic reeled in Sooner Athletic Conference volleyball player of the week awards.
Soraru, a junior from Mulhouse, France, took the attacker of the week, while Vojnovic, a junior from Bajeljena, Bosnia, became the setter of the week for Aug. 22-28.
During the Missouri Valley Viking Invitational, Soraru posted 3.36 kills, 0.43 blocks and 0.50 aces per set along with a .391 hitting percentage. Soraru produced a career-high 25 kills in OCU's five-set victory over William Woods (Mo.) on Saturday. Soraru notched her first SAC attacker of the week nod.
Vojnovic averaged 9.71 assists, 0.21 aces and 0.21 blocks a set. Vojnovic piled up 60 assists, four digs and two aces against William Woods.
The Stars take on Midland (Neb.) at 9 a.m. Friday in the Bellevue Labor Day Classic at Bellevue, Neb.
