The Stars built a 9-0 advantage through four innings. OCU plated six runs in the top of the fourth as Samantha Stallbaumer touched off the scoring with an RBI base hit over Houston-Victoria shortstop Sevanah Campos-Reyes. Legg, a senior from Mustang, Okla., scored on a wild pitch.
Pugh, a junior from Vista, Calif., nailed a run-scoring double into left field for a 6-0 Stars lead. Jaci Smith and Madison Ellis chipped in RBI singles before Leslie Miller scored on an error.
In the fifth, Kayley Humann pounded a triple to right-center field, then scored on Pugh's base hit to center to finish off Houston-Victoria.
Legg gave the Stars their first run of the game with a base hit through the middle of the infield in the second. Stephanie Koishor put OCU ahead 2-0 on a single beyond the reach of the second baseman Aubri Hockenberry.
OCU reached double figures in scoring for the 26th time this year. The Stars have produced the most runs (539) and hits (692) in the NAIA this season. OCU improved to 13-1 against top-25 teams in 2016.
