OKLAHOMA CITY – Skylar Janisse threw a no-hitter in Oklahoma City University's 18-0 blanking of Mid-America Christian on Saturday at Jim Wade Stadium.
Janisse, a senior right-hander from Maidstone, Ontario, Canada, struck out five and walked two in seven innings. The Stars, ranked 15th in NAIA baseball, moved to 26-9, 8-1 in the Sooner Athletic Conference.
Janisse (4-2) logged 95 pitches, 59 for strikes. Janisse retired Mid-America Christian's first six batters and nine of its first 10. He walked Daxton Marley leading off the third inning and Chevin Noone at the start of the fourth. Brandon Schoelkopf reached on an OCU error to begin the sixth.
In the third, Marley advanced to second base on a wild pitch. Jerry McNew stole second base in the fourth to become Mid-America's other runner to reach scoring position Saturday.
"It was an outstanding effort," OCU coach Denney Crabaugh said of Janisse's performance. "It was a big shot in the arm with all the injuries in the pitching staff. He threw all his pitches for strikes."

Baker, a junior from Edmond, Okla., paced OCU with four RBIs in a 3-for-5 performance with a double and three runs scored. The Stars piled up 20 hits for the second time this year.
