WAXAHACHIE, Texas – Alexandre Taiar delivered a penalty-kick goal that gave Oklahoma City University a 1-0 victory over Southwestern Assemblies of God (Texas) on Saturday at SAGU Field.
Taiar, a junior from Sao Paulo, Brazil, booted in the goal in the 17th minute. The Stars made the score stand to go to 9-3, 3-1 in Sooner Athletic Conference men's soccer.
Oklahoma City posted its third shutout of the year. Vladimir Kalajdzic, a junior from Novi Sad, Serbia, accumulated 10 saves to earn his second blanking of 2016 and eighth of his OCU career. The Stars defense recorded five team saves.
Southwestern Assemblies of God tallied 21 shots, while the Stars had 15 shots.
OCU continues SAC play against Southwestern Christian at 7 p.m. Saturday at Stars Field.
