Wayland Baptist tops OCU 4-0

Stars play at USAO on Nov. 5 in conference tournament

OKLAHOMA CITY – Wayland Baptist (Texas) dealt Oklahoma City University a 4-0 setback Saturday at Stars Field.
Wayland Baptist wrapped up the Sooner Athletic Conference men's soccer regular-season championship. The Stars (11-5-1, 5-3-1 SAC) will be the fifth seed in the SAC Tournament, playing USAO on Nov. 5 at a time to be announced in Chickasha, Okla.
Taval Whittaker propelled Wayland Baptist with a goal and two assists. Whittaker set up Guillermo Deal on Wayland Baptist's first goal at the 2:42 mark, then assisted Emmanuel Emmas' goal at 14:02 into the match. Whittaker provided Wayland a 3-0 advantage by scoring off James Quinn's feed in the 16th minute.
Vladimir Kalajdzic supplied OCU with two saves, and Daniel Paugh added a save. Alex Buckley led the Stars with three shots.
Wayland Baptist generated 12 shots to OCU's nine.
