OCU ends season in shootout to Southwestern Christian

Stars lose shootout 4-3

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University saw their season come to an end after falling in a shootout against Southwestern Christian in the Sooner Athletic Conference men's college soccer tournament at Stars Field on Saturday.
The game was scoreless throughout, with neither team able to generate enough offense for a goal.
The Stars finished the season 11-5-2.
Southwestern Christian (10-5-3) advanced to the Sooner Athletic Conference semifinals Tuesday against the winner of Wayland Baptist (Texas) and Mid-America Christian.
Southwestern Christian prevailed in the shootout 4-3. Artur Gomes booted in the winning penalty kick. Milos Milovic saved Daniel Yeom's ensuing shot for OCU.
Knotted at 0-0, the game progressed through both overtime periods and into a penalty kick shootout.
Southwestern Christian began the shootout with Lucas Loureiro finding the back of the net. For OCU, Henrik Verolet drilled his shot as well.
The Eagles got another point off the leg of Chad Dennis, while Stars junior Logan Stewart saw his shot hit off the right post.
OCU goalkeeper Vladimir Kaladjzic kept the Stars alive by blocking the next attempt by Rob Tomlin, and senior Aron Chapman hit his goal to tie the shootout 2-2.
Southwestern Christian went up 3-2 after Milan Milicevic nailed his shot, and OCU junior Alexandre Taiar's attempt flew wide left.
With the game on the line, Kaladjzic, a junior out of Novi Sad, Serbia, notched a huge save on the next shot by Max Garcia. Senior Juan Ocampo then calmly drilled his shot to tie the shootout.
Kaladjzic picked up his fourth shutout of the season and ninth of his career.
The teams both attempted nine shots and OCU held a 4-3 advantage in shots on goal.
