OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University dropped a 2-1 decision to USAO on Tuesday night at Stars Field.
The loss put the Stars at 11-4-1, 5-2-1 in Sooner Athletic Conference men's soccer. Alexandre Taiar opened the scoring with OCU's only goal of the game in the 11th minute off an assist from Namory Sidibe.
Taiar, a junior from Sao Paulo, Brazil, scored his team-leading 10th goal of the season. He has scored seven times in his past five games.
USAO got on the board in the 17th minute when Llewellyn Evans scored from just inside the box off an assist from Joey Shepherd.
Just two minutes later, the Drovers struck again. Joffe Bradley scored after a shot rebounded off Stars goalie Vladimir Kalajdzic to bring the score to 2-1.
Kalajdzic, a junior from Novi Sad, Serbia, recorded one save in the defeat.
OCU held the edge in both shots (19-9) and shots on goal (7-3).
The Stars' next match will be the final regular-season game of the year at Stars Field at 5 p.m. Saturday against Wayland Baptist (Texas). Stars seniors Aron Chapman, Jay Cox, Fabian Henningsen, Judah Maxwell, Juan Ocampo, Nic Rhodes, Lucas Ribeiro and Daniel Yeom will be honored prior to the match.
