OKLAHOMA CITY – Sara Ricks scored the only goal of the match on a breakaway in the 93rd minute in overtime to give Oklahoma City University the conference win 1-0 vs. Southwestern Christian on Saturday at Stars Field.
Ricks collected a rebound off her shot to tally the goal. With the win, OCU moved to 5-7, 3-2 in conference women's soccer play.
Ricks, a sophomore from Keller, Texas, now has a team-high seven goals on the season.
Kirsten Thomas, a sophomore from Keller, Texas, played the entire game in goal and picked up her third shutout of the season and the 11th of her career. She had four huge saves in the game.
The Stars outshot Southwestern Christian 8-7, and the teams held the same number of shots on goal.
OCU continues SAC play against at St. Gregory's at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Shawnee, Okla.
