OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University fell to Our Lady of the Lake (Texas) 3-1 on Sunday at Stars Field.
OLLU held the 21-12 shot advantage. OCU went to 0-3 on the year, while OLLU improved to 2-1.
The Stars battled from behind as OCU fouled an OLLU player inside the box, resulting in a penalty kick in just the second minute. Max O'Shea of OLLU capitalized for his second goal of the year.
Juan Ocampo, a junior transfer from Boca Raton, Fla., tied the game up before the first half ended with a goal in the 41st minute. The goal was the first of the season for the Stars and the first career goal at OCU for Ocampo. Callum Sweeney, a freshman from Darlington, England, recorded the assist.
Angel De La Garza broke the tie in the 72nd minute with an assist from Marco Perales. O'Shea added a goal in the 81st minute to seal the victory for OLLU. The assist came from OLLU goalkeeper Jorge Cavazos. Cavazos collected seven saves and earned his first win of the year.
Stars goalkeeper Vladimir Kalajdzic had eight saves.
OCU is back in action 5 p.m. Sept. 16 against Kansas Wesleyan at Stars Field.
