OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City lost to Kansas Wesleyan 2-1 on Wednesday at Stars Field.
Kansas Wesleyan improved to 3-2 on the season, while OCU dropped to 0-4.
The Stars got on the scoreboard first when Alexandre Taiar, a sophomore from Sao Paulo, Brazil, broke the scoreless game with a goal in the 67th minute off an assist by senior Volney Richardson. The goal was Taiar's first of the season. Mauro Hipolito of Kansas Wesleyan scored the tying goal off an assist by Cameron Meeker in the 74th minute. In the 83rd minute, Jason Goicochea assisted Jesse Lennon for the Coyotes to take the lead.
Stars goalkeeper Vladimir Kalajdzic had five saves. Fauris Franco recorded five saves for Kansas Wesleyan. OCU held the 16-12 shot advantage. OCU returns to action 3:30 p.m. Sept. 19 against MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.) in Olathe, Kan.
