Chase of Stars collects SAC defender of week

Sophomore from Yukon, Okla., notches second league award in three weeks

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University's Dani Chase picked up Sooner Athletic Conference defender of the week for the second time in three weeks.
Chase, a sophomore from Yukon, Okla., provided the Stars with 4.13 digs and 0.25 aces per set and a .912 service percentage during the week of Sept. 21-27. Chase had 15 digs as OCU knocked off 20th-ranked Wayland Baptist (Texas) on Saturday.
The Stars halted Wayland Baptist's regular-season SAC win streak at 16. OCU snapped an eight-match losing streak against Wayland Baptist while notching its first victory over a rated opponent in three tries this year.
On the season, Chase has supplied Oklahoma City with 4.14 digs and 0.23 aces a set.
OCU faces Texas Wesleyan at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Abe Lemons Arena. Follow the match via live stats.
