OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University got blanked against Houston-Victoria 3-0 on Sunday at Stars Field.
OCU, ranked 24th in NAIA women's soccer, dropped to 4-3 on the season, while Houston-Victoria improved to 5-2-1. The Stars held the shot advantage 23-8.
The Jaguars broke the scoreless tie in the 46th minute when Sheilat Akapo scored from a Valeria Hinojosa assist. In the 66th minute, Emily Lupton scored an unassisted goal. Lupton scored again in the 80th minute from an assist by Yahajaira Lara.
Kirsten Thomas recorded a save and fell to 3-3 as the Stars goalkeeper. Samantha Wooster registered nine saves and improved to 2-0 as Houston-Victoria goalkeeper. The Stars back in action 5 p.m. Tuesday against Southwestern Assemblies of God (Texas).
