Leisure, Mitcham from OCU nab weekly SAC awards

SAC chooses Mitcham as setter of week for third time this year

OKLAHOMA CITY – Tori Leisure and Hannah Mitcham from Oklahoma City University drew recognition in this week's Sooner Athletic Conference volleyball player of the week honors.
Leisure, a senior from Haslet, Texas, became SAC attacker of the week, while Mitcham, a senior from Fort Worth, Texas, raked in league setter of the week. Mitcham garnered the award for the third time in four weeks.
Leisure picked up her first weekly conference award ever. Leisure posted 3.25 kills and 0.75 blocks per set during the week of Sept. 14-20. She rang up 26 kills with two errors in 49 attacks for a .490 hitting percentage. Leisure played error-free in two matches this week, including Friday where she had 13 kills in 24 attacks against Southeastern Oklahoma State.
Mitcham amassed 9.11 assists, 2.33 digs and 0.22 blocks a set this week. On Friday, Mitcham provided the Stars with 35 assists and seven digs.
OCU went 3-0 to improve to 7-3, 2-0 in the SAC. The Stars have received votes in the NAIA top 25 for the first time since being ranked 24th at the end of the 2010 season.
