SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. – Oklahoma City University fell 2-1 to top-25 opponent Grace (Ind.) on Saturday in the John Brown Invitational at Alumni Field in the NAIA Network women's soccer match of the week.
Allison Worsham tallied OCU's goal against 15th-ranked Grace. The Stars went to 2-2 on the year.
Worsham, a senior from Edmond, Okla., scored unassisted in the 15th minute to even the match at one goal each. Worsham took the shot towards the left goalpost from 21 yards away after shaking three Grace defenders. Worsham scored her fourth goal of the year.
Carianne Sobey provided Grace the winning goal in the 35th minute. Grace owned the advantage in shots 15-10.
Grace goalkeeper Abby Shue kept OCU at bay. In the second half, Allie Glazner and Carissa Turang had shots Shue turned away.
Kirsten Thomas, a freshman from Keller, Texas, provided Oklahoma City with four saves.
The Stars meet MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.) at 1 p.m. Sept. 19 in Olathe, Kan.
