Stars blank Concordia 13-0

OCU faces Concordia (Ore.) noon Tuesday at Ann Lacy Stadium

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University dominated Concordia (Neb.) in the NAIA Softball Championship Opening Round Oklahoma City Bracket on Monday at Ann Lacy Stadium.
The No. 1-ranked Stars improved to 53-4 behind Jocelin Diaz's grand slam in the third inning. OCU faces 17th-ranked Concordia (Ore.) at noon Tuesday at Ann Lacy Stadium.
Oklahoma City struck in the second inning on Cheyanne Terry's RBI groundout to second base. Later in the inning, Diaz, a senior from Maracay, Venezuela, walked that scored Carissa Turang from third. Also in the second, Kylee Rounsaville, a senior from Mustang, Okla., reached on a bunt single that brought in Terry.
The Stars added to the lead in the third when Terry, a senior from Little Axe, Okla., walked and scored Sarah De La Cruz. Diaz connected on her 13th home run of the season over the right field fence to put OCU ahead 8-0 after three innings.
The Stars added five runs in the fourth and put the game out of reach for good.
