OCU takes one from Midland

The Stars won the first game win a walk-off

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University split games with Midland (Neb.) 3-2 and 5-3 Wednesday at Jim Wade Stadium.
The Stars, ranked 13th in NAIA baseball, won the first game in walk-off fashion while going to 21-6 on the season.
In the third inning of the first game, Jared Baker, a sophomore from Edmond, Okla., hit a single up the middle scoring Reggie Wilson to give the Stars a 2-1 lead.
Midland tied the game in the six inning at 2-2. Joe Lytle, a freshman form Yukon, Okla., smacked a single to right field to score Adam Clark and give OCU the victory.
Stars' Grant Hamilton, a junior from Oklahoma City, started for OCU and pitched 5.1 innings and gave up one earned run on six hits and struck out four. Holden Lyons, a sophomore from Edmond, Okla., picked up the win on 1.2 innings pitched on one hit and struck out one.
OCU scored all of their runs in the first inning of the second game. Josh Halbert, a senior from Choctaw, Okla., singled through the right side scoring Connor Lynch and Lytle.
Wilson, a junior from Beaumont, Texas, went 6-for-8 on the night and scored three runs for the Stars on the night.
OCU hosts Midland 10 a.m. Thursday at Jim Wade Stadium.
