OCU suffers 66-62 loss to OBU

OBU snaps Stars' 18-game winning streak

SHAWNEE, Okla. - Oklahoma City University fell to Oklahoma Baptist 66-62 on Saturday at the Noble Complex.
The Stars' 18-game winning streak ended. Oklahoma City, ranked second in NAIA Division I women's basketball, went to 18-2, 13-1 in the Sooner Athletic Conference. No. 10-ranked Oklahoma Baptist went to 19-4, 11-3.
OCU had four players score in double figures. Marisha Wallace led the Stars with 15 points. Wallace, a senior from Midwest City, Okla., added eight rebounds on 7-of-12 shooting off the bench.
Rateska Brown, a senior from Alvin, S.C., contributed 12 points, four rebounds and three assists. Brown scored on 5-of-12 shooting from the floor.
Janay Borum, a senior from Upper Marlboro, Md., added 11 points and five rebounds off the pine.
The Stars lead points in the paint 16-10 and controlled bench points 13-7. OCU took an eight-point lead with 7:53 showing in the first half, which was the largest lead of the game.
Oklahoma City led for 15:37 of the game but were unable to pick up the victory.
OCU returns to action 6 p.m. Thursday against St. Gregory's at Abe Lemons Arena.
