OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University beat Southwestern Assemblies of God (Texas) 1-0 Saturday at Stars Field in the quarterfinals matchup of the Sooner Athletic Conference women's soccer tournament.
The game was scoreless for the first 69 minutes of play until the Stars' Allie Glazner, of Edmond, Okla., launched a long free kick that found the back of the net to give OCU the lead 1-0. All four of Glazner's goals this year have come off of free kicks.
The Stars goalkeeper Kirsten Thomas collected two saves en route to her eighth shutout of the season and improved to 11-4-1. Kathleen Espinoza tallied eight saves and dropped to 5-6 as the Lions goalkeeper.
OCU owned the shot advantage 29-6 and had six corner kicks to the Lions one.
The No. 2-seeded Stars will play 6 p.m. Tuesday against John Brown (Ark.) at Stars Field in the tournament semifinals.
